River's Edge is a standalone natural gas power plant. It is unrelated to the data center proposed in the area, with its own zoning petition, its own public hearing and its own vote.
Whatever you think about data centers, River's Edge deserves to be judged on its own facts.

"This is the data center."
No. River's Edge is a standalone natural gas generating project, unrelated to the data center proposed in the area.
"It'll be loud and lit up all night."
Major equipment is enclosed with sound-reduction equipment, a landscaped buffer is designed to screen sound and light, and lighting is downward and shielded.
"Nobody's watching what it puts in our air and water."
River's Edge can't operate without required air and water permits, which establish enforceable requirements for emissions, water use and wastewater discharge.
"It'll swallow up the countryside."
The plant's footprint is limited to up to 70 acres, with part of the site dedicated to a landscaped rural buffer.
"Local people won't get the jobs."
